These little celluloid purses from the Deco period are so cute! I have one client that collects these in particular. In this case, the two connecting rings have broken off. This is not surprising given the construction of the purse.
After.....
The solution was to create two new rings to support the handle. It must be noted that the replacement rings are for display purposes only and cannot be guaranteed strong enough for use of this purse. This is because commercially molded plastics are far stronger as they are heat-treated and tempered for strength. The only other solution to repairing this purse would have been to find two celluloid rings in the identical color.
