When I found this stunning piece, it was but the remains of a once beautiful glass beaded figural purse of German origin. The panel is bead embroidery on canvas, depicting a courting scene.  With it came a note written by a family member about the owner, Great Gramma Karster.

    Here is the finished purse. I attached a vintage silver plated purse frame that was made in Germany, which seemed appropriate!

   The lining is made of a soft earthy taupe silk and finished off with floral silk purse trim.

  For the back of this purse, I chose to use a contemporary brocade fabric, with a vintage tapestry pattern on it. It matched the colors and style of the purse perfectly. The edges are finished with brown silk corded piping.

 The final touch is a simple twisted loop fringe in eathy colors to compliment the purse pattern.
